What I think of my human capital:
- I know that I have strong analytical thinking skills, From games, to class assignments, to jobs I have worked, I am always the person that wants to break down and analyze the activity.
- I am good at making decisions under pressure. When I am stressed I tend to become even more focused. I do not let it interfere with the task at hand.
- I am a good mediator, and do not let personal bias affect decisions in which I feel that it would be destructive. I am good at examining the merits of both sides of an argument without taking into consideration my personal feelings.
- I know what I don't know. I am always willing to defer judgement to those who know better, and do not let pride get in the way of a successful project.
- When a leader is necessary, I am more than willing to take charge. While I prefer to work and contribute to a group under others, I also have noticed that I preform especially well in environments where I have the control and responsibility.
What my family thinks of my human capital:
What my friends think of my human capital:
It seems that my interviewees as a whole basically agree with my self assessment. Funny enough, I disagree with my dad as far as mathematical ability is concerned; I do not feel I am particularly good at it. I would also like to add that I feel there are some inconsistencies simply because I haven't really been with my family since I have started college, and I believe I have changed quite a bit. I do not think I am nearly as quiet or reserved as I used to be.
Jacob,
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you separated your interviews into categories of your friends and your family! I wish I had thought about that before throwing all of mine on a page and trying to describe who was who and their relation to me. I was also impressed that you have the ability to make hard decisions under pressure. I have a hard time clearing my head when I am stressed, so I am going to try to take your quality and implement it a little bit more in my life. I think that quality will serve you well in your secret sauce and your future business endeavors. Here is my blog about my secret sauce if you want to go check it out: http://entrepreneurshipleslie.blogspot.com/2016/03/my-secret-sauce.html Have a great rest of the semester and good luck!
Hey Jacob,
ReplyDeleteI think your human capital was very creative. I really think that being a mediator and having analytical skills are essential towards working in a professional environment. I really enjoyed listening to your interviews and I am glad that most of them know you as much as you know yourself! Change is always good and it’s inevitable in college. Overall, good job on the post.
